At Peace - "At Peace" / "NeW DaY" (Video)

Let me introduce @Peace, the new project from Home Brew’s Tom Scott and Nothing To Nobody’s Lui Tuiasau. They released their debut album at the start of July to positive rumblings here and abroad and are holding at release party this Friday at the Bacco Room in Auckland.

You can check out the album below and click through to get yourself a copy for whatever you'd like to pay via Bandcamp.

‘New Day’ isn’t a song from their LP, but its wrestle-with-reality theme is deserving of your full attention nonetheless. The video, which you can watch below, takes us through a day in the life – Tweet-ups, bacon and eggs, filling up on overpriced gas, and then burying their troubles in liquor, mushies and music. Their LP is out and was executive produced by Christoph El Truento (of Wonderful Noise) and mastered by Benny Tones (of Electric Wire Hustle, BBE). Hear two more songs via their Soundcloud page and watch the video for ‘New Day’ below.

Lana Del Rey - "Video Games" (BALAM ACAB Remix)

Lana Del Rey's, 'Video Games', has been getting alot of treatment from electronic artists around the globe lately. I came across this dude's soundcloud that has several reworks of the classic tune, and the most recent update is by Joy Orbison. I don't know how official this is, but take a listen to this wonderment below...

yuk - 'A D W A' / "bigbright h i g h" (Video)

Leaving Records is proud to announce A D W A, the debut release by yuk. An album teeming with lush mysteries and dark allure, A D W A explores the misty juncture of beat and melody like a heart-of-darkness jungle cruise.

yuk.’s A D W A is an album of sublime beauty. It’s a fog-shrouded vision quest through gorgeous terrains that transform from glacial to gritty as it winds its way through your ears. I feel a strong desire to loop right back to the start of this awe-inspiring journey after every listen.”
-frosty of dublab

A D W A is a short story of yuk.’s sonic experiments… Documented on magnetic tape, displaying sounds from the far-out left-field end of the My Hollow Drum family… Lo-Fi ambient textures, organic beats, tribal rhythms & rain forest pop in a deep listening of ethereal soundscapes.”

Maverick - 'The First Step'

Some words from Oddisee...: "When it comes to digging for samples I must admit, I'm not the best at it. When you have friends like mine you don't have to be. I'd like to introduce you all to Maverick, a producer from Washington, DC by way of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Maverick and I have been friends for some time now, and his knowledge on hip-hop and records never ceases to amaze me."

"The last time we hooked up, he played me some new beats he was working on. He's a busy guy who has his hands in tons of things. The one thing he has yet to dabble in was a release. I convinced him to let me share his beats with you all. Consider these tracks "the First Step" in my homie making a name for himself." All songs produced and recorded by Maverick, except where noted. All songs mixed by Oddisee, except where noted. Released 08 February 2011

Courtland Urbano - "Traffic"

1 day ago Cortland Urbano aka Xperiment uploaded his new joint called "Traffic". The track combines an intriguing collection of different sounds in it and the fact that he continued building his own and very unique sound makes it that much fresher, even if it is difficult to. I´m sure that he future belongs to Xperiment and you should remember the name.

"Hip Hop music has no doubt grown from its explosive beginnings but unfortunately in many ways detrimental to its participants. Never the less like all viable art forms there are those who take hold of what they know to be true and build upon it. Those are the sounds of Courtland Urbano."
